Individual Therapy
Braun Psychological Services

Adults:

As a clinical psychologist I believe in providing evidence-based treatment for various mental health concerns. I also see each person as a unique individual with varying experiences, cultures, and personalities. Because of this view, I believe that therapy is a collaborative approach in which the psychologist and client work together towards an ultimate goal. My views of therapy could be described as an eclectic approach, influenced by humanistic psychology, family systems, and cognitive behavioral therapy. In working in individual therapy, we will develop a treatment plan that is specific to you. This treatment plan will inform our work together, utilizing evidence-based treatment approaches indicated by scientific research.

If you feel that individual therapy would be appropriate, please contact me to set up an appointment. Prior to your first visit you will complete all necessary forms through a client portal, which I will send to you via email. This will allow us to get started with therapy in a timely manner.

Adolescents:

The teenage years are some of the most exciting, frustrating, and important years of ones life. It is these years that set the foundation for where we go in life. I have always had a passion for working with today’s youth. Navigating the world during these years can be difficult, especially as your son or daughter stops communicating with you :-). Teens today face issues such as bullying, suicide, depression, relationships, and substance abuse in an ever-changing world. They are figuring out the world and who they are in that world.

In working with teens in therapy, sometimes issues may arise in regards to boundaries. Therapy can only work if your son or daughter feels that the therapy process is confidential for them. While there are a few exceptions to this, they need to feel that they can be truly open about themselves throughout this process. I look forward to meeting your son or daughter and helping them through the growing pains of adolescence.

If you feel that Adolescent therapy may be appropriate for your son or daughter, please feel free to contact me. Prior to your first visit you will complete all necessary forms through a client portal, which I will send to you via email. This will allow us to get started with therapy in a timely manner.
